Farmed Red drum
The name of the red drum fish originates from the drum-like sound made when it is caught. It has a characteristic eyespot near the tail. In fact, the species' scientific name, Sciaenops ocellatus, means "shady eye-like spot".

- It has a flaky and firm texture, but softer than the black drum. Its taste is mild, slightly sweet, reminiscent of the snapper.
